Kathryn KaniaCertified Craniosacral Therapist Certified Massage Therapist Certified Lymphatic Drainage Therapist
I completed a course of study at the Colorado School of Healing Arts in December 2002 where I earned my Craniosacral and Massage Therapy degree. Perhaps my most rewarding work was done in the treatment of spinal cord and brain injured patients at Denver’s world-renowned Craig hospital. My participation in a study to determine how massage and energy work aid in releasing pain in end of life hospice patients has also been greatly satisfying.
My current specialties are cranioscral and massage therapy used to support central nervous system balance. Experience tells me that chronic pain symptoms, sports and car injuries, fibromyalgia, and stress related problems respond well to cranial work -- headaches and migraines, jaw dysfunctions, insomnia, dyslexia and emotional trauma with cranial work. Lymphatic therapy helps clients who suffer from immune system dysfunction and deficiencies in lymph flow from swelling and scar tissue.
A recent completion of a Thai Yoga massage course in Thailand has shown me how the body can be relieved of sore muscles by subtle yet effective stretches that stimulate energy throughout the body.
I participate in many corporate wellness events and appreciations with chair massage and promote healthy, pain free lifestyles through chair massage at farmers markets.
My heart and hands generate a supportive environment which helps the body use its amazing powers to heal itself.
