...is an integrative approach including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, reflexology,
and neuromuscular body work.
Supports relaxation, removes painful "knots" in the muscles,
oxygenates the blood and enhances REM sleep.
...is a light touch manual therapy that addresses restrictions -
trauma in the craniosacral system of membranes and fluid that
surround and protect the brain and spinla cord.
Aids in digression of migraines, headaches, depression,
dyslexia, TMJ, and vertigo.
Gentle strokes target the lymph
nodes and lymphatic organs, removing edema (swelling)
and thereby cleansing the immune system.
Cleansing the immune system results in higher efficiency
of system functions and also aids in re-routing lymph flow and scarred tissues.
...is a technique using acu-stretches and trigger-point releases for athletes during pre or post
events and training, also expedites rehabilitation after injury.
Relax tension in muscles by removal of excess lactic acid, therefore
improving an athletes ability to perform.
...is a unique healing experience concentrating on energy lines and points; along with deep
stretching movements; which restore balance and health.
Restores "Out of Balance" state, enabling the receiver to "let go" of
tightness in the muscles, thus regaining balance and improving joint mobility and flexibility.
...is an effective, creative, safe and efficient way to heal the effects of trauma and
overwhelm to the autonomic nervous system. When the body has been in fight or flight
(sympathetic) mode, STR can restore resiliency to system so that one is much less affected
by the stresses and set-backs of life. (Trauma is anything, emotional/physical that
overwhelms the nervous system.) Trauma from car/ski accidents, surgery, death of a
pet/loved one, sexual and physical abuse can be resolved with releasing the energy trapped
in the body from the incident.
Modern neuro-science has confirmed that trauma responses are driven
by the survival instincts of the hind brain, whose language is bodily sensation. This work
is done through allowing the patient to feel body sensations (tingling, waving, heat, pain,
movement, constricted, etc.) and to discharge the trauma-bound energy which in turn has the
body/mind reorganize to a higher level of health. It is completed as a counseling session
and is known to be effective in releasing symptoms that usually occur after trauma is trapped
in the body, such as, headaches/migraines, and pain. It can be more effective than psychotherapy.
(This work is based on Peter Levine's findings that animals will tremble/shake and release trauma
naturally, humans need to also and very often cannot naturally!)
This work is based on aiding people to access their own, instinctive ability to rebound from
overwhelming experiences. When the autonomic nervous system is activated with anxiety or an
experience of "survival mode", the individual perceives their life as threatened. With Somatic
Experiencing work, an individual learns how to discharge the energy that initiated the freeze
response to completion in the body by using sensations. After shaking/trembling or any other
sensations that come into the presence of the individual's body awareness, the body can restore
balance and breath, and the individual can move the trauma or overwhelm to completion as opposed
to it staying locked in the body.
Hyperarousal, Constriction, Dissociation, Denial, Feelings of helplessness, immobility, or freezing.
